Nadine was born on November 21, 1932 in Victor, Idaho to Elijah and Martha Tonks, where she enjoyed many sweet childhood memories. Later her family moved to Pocatello, Idaho. She graduated from Pocatello High School and went on to attend Brigham Young University. She became very good at shorthand and used her skills in several positions, though she became most well known and loved for her service as the Postmaster in Geneva, Idaho.
She met her Mr. Wonderful while visiting her sisters in Geneva. She and Ernest G. Bishoff were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 24, 1953. Together they settled in the Geneva valley, building a beautiful life for themselves and their family. They raised five children, delighting in the many beautiful vistas strewn among the typical challenges of life. They both lived and died with grace and dignity, being valiant in the cause of the truths which they both held dear.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Jeffrey Tonks Bischoff. Her other children, Dale Ernest Bischoff, Janet Bradford (Daron), Diane Tippetts (Stephen) and Annette Bischoff, were all by her bedside at her time of death. Other surviving family members include her six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who all called her Grand-Grandma, a title she cherished, as well as lived up to.
Nadine was the family glue. She spent hours and hours keeping track of each individual member. She also had an extensive circle of loved and precious friends. She will be missed b so many. Surely she is already planning a grand reunion when she will "see you in the morning," as she told everyone before departing to her new adventure.
There will be a viewing February 4, from 6-8 pm at the Schwab-Matthews Mortuary in Montpelier, ID.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Geneva LDS Church with a viewing at 9:30 - 10:45 am prior to the services.
