Parker City IN - John Charles Delbert Bickel, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior, June 29, 2011 at Parker Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 15, 1920 in Linden IN, the son of of Thelma (Crim) and Ralph Bickel. Delbert had worked five years as Traffic Manager for Warner Gear and he retired in 1979 from the furniture repair service department at Sears & Roebuck. He also owned the Bickel’s Finishing Service. Delbert was a member of First Church of Nazarene, Anderson and the Order of Railroad Telegraphers. Mr. Bickel is sirvived by three sons, Lee Bickel. (wife, Sharon), Traverse City MI, Steve Bickel, (wife, Jean), Indianapolis and Dean Bickel, (wife Anna), Muncie; four grandchildren, Brad Bickel, (wife, Sherry), Indianapolis, Christen Matthews, Indianapolis, Jonathan Bickel, (wife, Pat), Chicago IL, and Joy Diebold, (husband, Chris), Charlotte NC; four great-grandchildren, Marina Bickel, Hannah Matthews, Marina Bickel, Hannah Matthews, Nick Matthews, and Luke Diebold; a sister, Joan Schultz, Hartford City and a brother, Jack Bickel, (Wife, Ruth), Muncie. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna (Martelle) Bickel; second wife, Maple I. (Johnson) Bickel; a grandson, Kevin Beckel; a grandson-in-law, John Matthews; a son-in-law, Lowell Schultz and two nephews, Mark and Tim Schultz. Burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson IN.
