Lovett Services Scheduled Friday

Funeral services for George Oscar Lovett, who died Tuesday evening at his home in Willows, will be held at 2 Friday afternoon in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Artois. A prayer service will be held at the Sweet chapel in Willows before the rites in the church. Burial will be in the Artois cemetery. The Rev. C. A. Pickelman of Chico will officiate.
Mr. Lovett, who had spent all his life in the Artois and Willows sections, had been in ill health for the past year and a half. He was 78 years of age.
For many years he was employed by the old Hochheimer company and the Rochdale store in Artois. Later he was elected justice of peace at Artois, and served in that capacity until the judicial districts of the county were consolidated and that post was discontinued. Moving to Willows, he was made constable there, retiring due to declining health.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Lovett of Willows; three daughters, Mrs. Maxine DeLaney of Oakland, Mrs. Kathleen Elkins of Rodeo and Mrs. Erna Grundman of Artois; four sons, George Lovett of Biggs, Howard Lovett of San Francisco, Joseph Lovett of Biggs, Howard Lovett of San Francisco, Joseph Lovett of Long Beach and Cecil Lovett of Crockett. Ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Many old friends and relatives attended funeral services held Friday in Artois for George Oscar Lovett, lifelong resident of that section. Burial was in the Artois cemetery.
