Obituary for Henry (Heinrich) Prull, Britt News (Britt, Iowa), 30 May 1912:
Henry Prull, mention of whose death was made in last week's issue, died at his home in Section 13, Orthel township, on Monday, May 20, the cause of death being apoplexy. He had been as well as usual during the day and worked in the field until evening. He was taken suddenly ill and died at 11 o'clock that night.
Mr. Prull was born in Oldenburg, Germany, June 6, 1850 [sic - note discrepancy with headstone], being at the time of his death 61 years, 11 months and nine days of age. He was married in the old country, coming with his family to this country about thirty years ago, settling near Parkersburg, Iowa. They came to Hancock county in 1892, which has since been the family home.
Mr. Prull was a man of many good qualities, a good citizen, neighbor, father and husband, and leaves many sincere friends who were pained to hear of his sudden death.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Mrs. Miner Schrader of Orthel township; George of Sedro Wooley, Washington; Mary and Willie, residing at home. All were present at the funeral which was held at the M. E. church in Britt on Saturday, May 25, being very largely attended by neighbors and friends. Rev. Mueller of Titonka, and Rev. Widner of Woden, conducted the services. The burial was made in the Britt cemetery.
