The funeral service for Luella Peterson, 95, of Marshall, formerly of Russell, will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church in Russell. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow at the Lynd Cemetery.

Luella Mae (Kindler) Peterson was born on March 8, 1924, in Nordland Township to William and Alvina (Possehl) Kindler. She attended school in Russell and Lynd. On July 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Percy Peterson. The couple made their home and raised their family in Russell. Luella worked a couple of part time jobs including her favorite, selling makeup for Studio Girl. She was talented with crafts and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, drawing and painting. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, playing cards and especially bingo. Luella was most passionate about time spent with her family: children, grand-children, great and great-great grandchildren.

Luella died on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.

She is survived by her adult children Deanna (and Richard) Lange of Marshall, Darlene (and Rodney) Plantz of Brewster, Vicky (and Tom Sr.) Greve of Marshall, Eugene Peterson Sr. of Palymra, MO, Karen (and Arden) Eilers of Canby, Randy (and Karen) Peterson of Iona, Becky (and William) Perry of Naples, FL, Bonnie (and Jerry) Christianson of Canby, Clayton (and Raquel) Peterson of Marshall, 27 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Percy Peterson, grandsons John Edward Lange, Eugene Greve and Darcy George Eilers great-granddaughter Katie Elizabeth Page and 13 siblings.
