Augustina Justina was born on February 25, 1893 in Ferdinand to Frank and Philomina (Grewe) Metzger. Her siblings were Mary Cecilia, Charles, Vincent, Ella, Emma (Sr M Chrysostom), Rose, Ida, Louise, Irene, Marcella (Sr M Modesta), and Harold.
Sr M Stanislaus completed 70 years of religious life at the Convent in Ferdinand having entered the Convent on May 27, 1909. She made her first vows August 4, 1912 and perpetual vows on August 18, 1918. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee in 1937, Golden Jubilee in 1962, and Diamond Jubilee in 1972.
Sister taught in the diocesan and public elementary schools for 55 years (19 years at Mariah Hill). She also taught at St Benedict's in Evansville, St Mary's in Huntingburg, St Thomas in Dale, Columbus, Mount Vernon, and Celestine, St James in Tell City and St Anthony, St Phillip in St Meinrad and Montgomery.
Retiring from teaching in 1969 she worked at St Joseph's Hospital in Hungtingburg until 1972.
Sister Stanislaus passed away on September 8, 1979 at St Joseph's Hospital in Huntingburg.
