Elsie Mae Ross of Pleasant View, Indiana passed away on Sunday, April 21, 1974 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, where she had been a patient for four days. She was 80.

Mrs. Ross had been in failing health for several years.

Born in Shelby County on November 20, 1893, she was one of nine children born to the late John Wesley and Laura Belle (Morgan) Hickman.

She was the wife of Jesse William Ross, who she married in Shelbyville, Indiana on November 8, 1916. He preceded her in death in 1971.

They were the parents of seven children:
Baby Girl (Died at birth 1917)
Thelma Irene (Died at birth 1919)
Norman Wayne (1920-1962)
Marjorie Ellen (1925-2010)
Lester Harold (1928-1974)
Paul Edward (1933 - )
Jay (Twin of Paul, died at birth 1933)

Grandmother of five.

She is also survived by two brothers; Charles and Paul Hickman, and three sisters; Nina Kiefer, Anna Vise, and Goldie McCalip.

Also preceding her in death was her brother Harry Hickman, and sisters Bertha Jones and Cora Salbeck.
