Ruth Lammers, 95, of Hingham, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at her home.

Ruth was born on March 5, 1924, in Stockton, KS to Bert and Ethel (Hebrew) Helmer. She was a graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On March 21, 1953, Ruth married Stanley Allan Lammers Sr. in Sheboygan Falls.

She was a member of Hingham Church for over 60 years. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and reading. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her five children, Jean Lammers of Hingham, Nancy (Steve) Ott of Kentucky, Stanley Allan Lammers, Jr. of Alabama, Mary Behring of Hingham, and Amy (David) Diljak of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Russell Ott, Alexander Behring, Grace Diljak, and Luke Diljak; brother, Howard Lyle (Gloria) Helmer of Virginia; and brother-in-law, Clarence Landry of California.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; parents, Bert and Ethel; five sisters, Lettie (Andrew) Houwers, Katherine Helmer, Gwendolyn (Robert) Schueffner, Grace Landry, Anna Helmer; four brothers, Albert (Adella) Helmer, Carl (LaVerne) Helmer, John Keith (Dorothy) Helmer, and Harold (Emily) Helmer.

A funeral service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019, at 11:00 am at Hingham Church. A burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at Hingham Church on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.

A memorial fund is being established in her name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
