Lillian Salisbury, 100, Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully at Ave Maria Village on May 8th, 2020.

Born May 20,1919 in Benson County near Minnewauken, ND to Fredrick & Tilla (Nesset) Johnson, Lillian was the 12th of 14 siblings, and the youngest daughter.

After graduating from Minnewauken High School & Mayville State College, Lillian went on to become an elementary school teacher in the rural Devils Lake area, New Rockford and Cooperstown, ND. She married Harry Salisbury August 3, 1942; continued to teach while Harry was in the service and later became a secretary at Valley City, ND elementary schools for several years.
She was a committed member of the Sons of Norway, Lutheran Churches and active in the DAV and Retired Teachers Association. Lillian enjoyed a lifelong love of sewing and created each of her four daughters’ wedding dresses. She also loved bowling and dancing with her husband.

Lillian is survived by her daughters Bonnie Barbara Kroeber (Joseph), Jamestown, ND Claudia Dawn Jacobson (Mark), Soldonta, AK and Kristi Lynne Brovold (Ronald), Fargo, ND; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, and one son-in-law Jim Myers, Alice, ND.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry (2008), daughter Wendy Lee Myers (2005), eight sisters (Olivia, Ellen, Anna, Hilda, Mabel, Lena, Gena and Margaret) and five brothers (John, Fredrick, Edwin, Gordon and Ronald).
