Virgil James Wienhold (81), beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 after a brave and determined battle with an illness.

Virgil was born in Havelock, Iowa, graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Pocahontas, Iowa, served in the US Army during the Korean conflict and graduated from St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. Virgil taught at Moorhead High School for over 30 years before retiring to Phoenix.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Gloria, two sisters, Lucille and Pauline, one brother, Leo, his seven children, Brian (Carol) Wienhold, Carrie (Thomas) Jefferson, Mark (Lynn) Wienhold, Barbara (Mike) Stenberg, Brenda (Jeff) Wadeson, Julie (Brent) See and Melissa Wienhold, 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
