Fred was thee son of Okke Osterbuhr and Maria Hartmann. He married Mary Euken on June 8, 1905. They were the parents of Otto, Elmer, Anna, and Martha.

Akron Register Tribune - Thursday , October 16th, 1969 - Funenal services were held for Fred H
Osterbuhr, age 88, on Friday, October 10 at the Trinity Lutheran church in Hawarden, Rev. O.F. Pittack officiating. Burial was in the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Grant township, near LeMars. Mr. Osterbuhr died Tuesday, October 7, in a nursing home after a long illness.

Fred H. Osterbuhr was born February 2, 1881, in Grant township, he farmed in Plymouth county for many years, moving to Sioux County in 1944. He married Mary Euken on June 8, 1905. She died in July 1947.

Survivors of Mr. Osterbuhr are two sons: Otto of Akron.and Elmer of Hawarden; two daughters: Mrs. Anna Pefferman of Akron and Mrs. Elmer (Martha) Popken of Hudson, S.D.; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and a brother, Otto of Brunsville.
