Curtiss Koopman, lovingly known to most as "Sonny", 75 a native Texan past away, Tuesday, September 15th, 2020. Family and friends will gather for visitation, Sunday, September 20th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy. in Victoria. A service celebrating Sonny's life will be at 10:00AM, Monday, September 21st at Grace Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crescent Valley Cemetery.
Sonny was born December 3, 1944 in Lexington, Texas to the late Arthur and Leonie Meineke Koopman.
Sonny served his country honorably in the United States Army, he was a very proud veteran. Sonny married his love, Virginia Catherine "Cathy" McClanahan, June 9, 1970. Sonny became a single parent ten short years after they were married, he was an excellent parent to his children. Sonny enjoyed playing BINGO and trying his luck with lottery scratch off's and watching "Law & Order and "Chicago PD". His passion was truly his children, grandchildren and great-grandkids. Sonny was as well passionate about his beloved, "Bella", his boxer/husky, he always made sure she was taken care of. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Leonie Koopman; his wife, Virginia Catherine "Cathy" Koopman in 1980; his four siblings, Martha Lee, Wilburn, Ervin and Virgie Lee "Sissy"; his sister-in-law, Wilma Koopman; and his two grandchildren, Leigh Ayn Ramirez and Steven Lee Delgado.
