BRUNKE BRUNKEN, WELL KNOWN FARMER IN PLYMOUTH COUNTY MANY YEARS
Death claimed Brunke Brunken, residing at 208 Second Avenue NW, Thursday afternoon. Mr. Brunken had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Brunken was born in Ost Friesland, Germany, October 2, 1865, where he grew to young manhood and came to Plymouth County in 1889 and worked on farms. He bought a farm in Grant Township where he farmed successfully for several years and then bought a larger farm in Elgin Township on the West Branch, which is now operated by his sons.
He was united in marriage with Catharine Dirks in 1894. He is survived by his wife and seven children all residing in Plymouth County.
Mr. Brunken came to Plymouth County with practically no money and by hard work and application to business succeeded in becoming wealthy and was recognized as one of the substantial and influential citizens of the community. He had a pleasant genial nature and was esteemed by a large number of friends and acquaintances.
The funeral arrangements had not been completed last evening.
