Charles Michael “Mike” Poe, 63, and Sandra Ann “Sandy” Poe, 65, both of Bluejacket, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2017 as the result of a traffic accident.

The couple was married on Valentine’s Day 1975 and had celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in 2017.

They were the proud parents and grandparents of four children, fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: daughter Louise (Poe) and Owen Hitchcock of Spavinaw, grandchildren Julie (Friend) and Joade Parmley of Grand Lake (parents of great-grandchildren Isabella, Jasper and Timber), Harley Tea and Andrew and Tyler Hitchcock; son Steven and Tiffany Poe of Pawhuska, grandchildren Macpherson, Zale, Lilly, Riley, Sophia and Israel; daughter Kimberly (Poe) Dean and Ben Conley of Broken Arrow, grandchildren Kirsten and Collen Dean and Sean Conley; Kevin and Elizabeth Poe of Tulsa, grandchildren Olivia and Emilia.

Mike was born June 26, 1954, in Hill City, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Beulah Poe as well as his brother Lewis Poe all of Ketchum, OK. He is survived by his sister Diane McGuire of Miami, OK.

Sandy was born November 21, 1951, in Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Theresa McPherson of Miami, OK, and brother Everett McPherson, a Vietnam veteran. She is survived by two brothers, Raymond McPherson of Jacksonville, NC, and Alan McPherson of Portsmouth, VA, and four sisters, Darlene McPherson of Miami, OK, Mary Lou Lawlis of Claremore, OK, Fay Ayres of Miami, OK, and Kay Tanner of Miami, OK.

Mike was a retired industrial manufacturer and enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, caring for their farm animals and tinkering with any project he could find.

Sandy was a pediatric and psychiatric nurse. She enjoyed crafting, caring for her horses and spending time with her grandbabies. They both found great pleasure donating their time and energy to the many projects they helped with as members of Bar-None Cowboy Church in Afton, OK.

Mike and Sandy were true givers, always helping family and friends and never asking for anything in return. It is impossible to tell how many people were touched by their generosity. They leave behind many, many loving family members and friends, and they will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Afton, OK, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017
