Everett McPherson

MIAMI, Okla. — Everett Smith McPherson, 71, 2006 H St. N.W., died at 7:20 a.m. Friday at St. John's Hospital, Tulsa, after an illness.

Mr. McPherson was born Oct. 8, 1919, at Cartersville, Ga. He moved to Miami in 1971 from the state of Virginia. He formerly lived at Virginia Beach, Va. He was a 1935 graduate of Cartersville High School. He was a former manager of the Sirloin Stockade in Miami. He was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church, Miami.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include five daughters, Darlene Eddings and Sandra Poe, both of Miami, Mary Lou Lawlis, Eure, N.C., Fay Ayres and Kay Tanner, both of Welch; two sons, R.G. McPherson, Carville, La., and Alan McPherson, Chesapeake, Va.; three sisters, Lucille Hallman, Wilma Gunter and Aline Jarrett, all of Cartersville; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will be at the family home.

Arrangements are pending with Cooper Funeral Home, Miami.

MIAMI, Okla. — Services for Everett Smith McPherson, 71, 2006 H St. N.W., who died Friday, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Northwest Baptist Church.

The Rev. Lloyd Crawford and the Rev. Dale Rogers will officiate.

Burial will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Charley Haney, Tony Cooper, Steven Poe, Jeremy Ayres, David McPherson and Kevin Jones.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Home, Miami.
