MRS. BERTHA M. E. SPECHT
The death occurred yesterday of Mrs. Bertha Maria E. Specht, an old and respected resident of Maryborough at the age of 74 years. The deceased had been under medical treatment for some months, but collapsed suddenly. She was born in Germany and came to Queensland with her parents at the age of six and had resided here since. For many years she was connected with The Women's Home League of the Salvation Army. Her husband. Mr. August Specht predeceased her 30 years ago. She is survived by a family of four sons, namely Messrs. Charles and Albert (Maryborough), Henry (Sydney ) and Stanley Specht (Brisbane) and three daughters — Mesdames R White and A. Wells (Maryborough) and H. Bradshaw (Brisbane). One son, Mr. William Specht. who served in the Great War. died some years ago. She is also survived by one brother. Mr. August Belfus (Scarness), one sister Mrs J. Brimelow (Brisbane), 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, The funeral will move from the Salvation Army Citadel Bazaar-street. this Friday morning at 10.30 o'clock.
