She was born in Sheboygan on Feb. 5, 1920, to Gottlieb and Marie Sessler Diener. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1937.
On Sept 25, 1939, she married John Stockinger in Waukesha, Wis. He preceded her in death on Oct 24, 1982.
Marie was a bartender for many years at Mr. Glen's, where she was known as "MA", and retired in 1980. She previously was employed at St. Nicholas Hospital for several years.
She was member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and enjoyed bowling in many leagues in area bowling establishments.
She is survived by her four sons and one daughter, Thomas "T.J," (Jan Ledbetter), Honolulu, Hawaii; Theodore, Sheboygan; Tim (Kathy), Sheboygan; Terry (Debby), Oceanside, Calif, and Kathie (Jim) Berger, Sheboygan; nine grandchildren, Christine (Bob) Horwath, Tamiko and Tomiko Stockinger, Tim Jr. (Barb) and Troy Stockinger, Brandon end Tiffanie Berger, Amy and Joshua Stockinger: two step-grandchildren, Kathy and Kent Kobayashi; and her sister, Kitty Ottensmann, Sheboygan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services for Marie Stockinger will be held Wednesday, Nov, SO, at 7:30 p.m., at Lippert Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave., with the Rev. Jerome H. Groth, pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery, on Thursday, at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
