The former Emilie Diener was born Feb. 21, 1905. in Russia, a daughter of Gottlieb and Marie Diener. As a young girl she came to Sheboygan with her parents.
On Aug. 1, 1925, she married Clarence DeKarske, also of Sheboygan, at St. Mark Lutheran Church. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1975.
Mrs. DeKarske was employed as an Avon Lady in Sheboygan for 20 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and a member and past president of the Sheboygan Garden Club.
Survivors are her husband, a retired employee of the stores in Sheboygan; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Doering of Sheboygan; one son, Clarence William of St. Paul Park, six grandchildren; three brothers, Gottlieb of Newton Falls, Ohio, Ernst of Hartford, and Henry of Sheboygan, and three sisters, Mrs. William Ottensman, Mrs. William Gregor, and Mrs. John Stockinger, all of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. De-Karske's name.
