Amalia Mary "Mollie" Hammond, 87, Topeka, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, in a Topeka nursing home. She was born March 28, 1911, the daughter of Joseph and Helena Jungblood Schoenfeld.
Mrs. Hammond was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She married Donald W. Hammond on Aug. 2, 1938 in Topeka. He died April 28, 1966.
Survivors include three sons, Donald L. Hammond, Dale E. Hammond and Gerald J. Hammond, all of Topeka; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Hammond will lie in state after 2 p.m. Monday in Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where an Altar Society Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and sent in care of the funeral home.
