Victor Becker, 63, of 1916 N. 26th St., died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital after, a lengthy illness.
Mr. Becker was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Sheboygan, son of the late Henry and Julianna Metzler Becker. He graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1937 and attended the University of Wisconsin Extension Center.
He served in the Army in Europe, Africa and the Mid-East from 1941 until 1945. He was discharged as a sergeant in the medical corps.
On Sept. 19, 1942, Mr. Becker married Esther Oehlberg, also of Sheboygan. The couple lived in Sheboygan where Mr. Becker was employed at the Sheboygan Post Office as a clerk for 27 years, retiring in 1979.
He served as 3rd Ward alderman for one term from 1954-56. He was a member of First United Lutheran Church, a life member of the Jensen-Van Thruler Post No. 15 of the DAV, and was member of the Sheboygan Old Timers Baseball Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, J. Randolph of Austin, Mass., and Kerry D. of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Randall (Diane) Lassila of Craig, Colo.; two grandchildren; and three brothers, Waldemar Becker of Forest Park, Ill., Wilbert and Roland Becker, both of Sheboygan. A brother preceded him in death.
The funeral Service will be Monday, at 2 p.m., at the First United Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Howard White, associate pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in the Garden Terrace Mausoleum.
