Gerald W. Koenig, 80, Moline, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Hope Creek, East Moline. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 til 2:30 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at 3PM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.

Gerald was born on March 4, 1941 in Lansing, MI, the son of Wesley and Gertrude (Tyranskas) Koenig. He graduated from UTHS. He worked for John Deere and later retired as a correctional officer for the Nevada Prison System. He had been married to Gabby, the love of his life. He enjoyed photography and bowling.

Survivors include children; Heather (Bly)McLaughlin, Davenport, and Scot Long, Utah, step-daughter, Kathy Kehoe, Reno, NV, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings; Wesley (Maureen) Koenig, Surprise, AZ, Sue (Joe) Hernandez, Bettendorf, Carol (Rick)) Freier, Black Hawk, SD, Beverly Koenig, Moline, Darrell Koenig (Cathy Parchert), Rock Island, and Dale (Jane) Koenig, Moline and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara.
