Susan Hoisington, 82, Area Pioneer, Taken

Susan Frances Hoisington, 82, a resident of this area since 1888, died yesterday morning at 11:10 at the Riverview nursing home after an illness of five months. She suffered a stroke May 1.

She was born Susan Eaton, Oct. 9, 1865, in Nebraska and was married to Frank Hoisington Jan. 15, 1885, at Nebraska City. She and her husband journeyed west in 1888 to Palouse, and later lived for five years at Troy. They moved to Fix ridge in 1896 and to Potlatch ridge in 1912. Mr. Hoisington died March 4, 1933.

She was a member of the Reorganized Latter Day Saints church.

Survivors include three children, Mrs. Albert Heimgartner, Mrs. William Heimgartner and Cletis Hoisington, all of Juliaetta; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Kinnison of Nebraska City and Mrs. Dolly Haynes of Sacramento, California; three brothers, Riley Eaton and Carl Eaton, both of Union, Nebraska, and Eli Eaton in California; 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

The body is at the Brower-Wann funeral home; funeral arrangements will be announced later.
