She married Edwin W. Herman on Nov. 4, 1941, in Ransom. He preceded her in death Sept. 29, 2001.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Christian Mothers, Perpetual Eucharist Adoration, and St. John's of Hays Auxiliary, all of Hays.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie D. Herman and wife, Carolyn, Hays, and Gary L. Herman and wife, Deanne, Circleville; two daughters, Vera Soderberg and husband, Jerry, Dodge City, and Verda Johnson and husband, Jon, Utica; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Clemens Sander, Sylerius Sander and Alec Sander; two infant brothers; five sisters, Genevieve Sander, Sophie Dreiling, Barbara Knoll, Lucina Sander and Lorinda Sander; and an infant sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601. A Christian Mothers rosary-Perpetual Eucharist Adoration rosary, St. John's of Hays rosary will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, all at the mortuary. A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 7 p.m., both at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Masses in care of the mortuary.
