Gary D. Cerny, 82, of Linwood, NE, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Schuyler Hospital in Schuyler, NE.

He was born October 11, 1940 in Weston, NE to Otto and Helen (Spicka) Cerny.

Gary graduated from Weston High School.

Gary owned and operated Cerny Body and Paint in Weston, NE, then brought his business and Cerny Wrecker Service to Columbus, NE.

Gary enjoyed wood crafting, camping, fishing, restoring automobiles, gardening, traveling and collecting trains.

He is survived by daughters, Debbie (Carl) Spenner of Bennington, NE, Kelly Sprunk of Columbus, NE and Christine (special friend, Brent Greene) Cerny of Schuyler, NE; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Helen Cerny; brothers, Donald Cerny, Robert Cerny and Richard Cerny; sister, Doris Essay; brothers-in-law, Howard Turner, George Essay and Ernest Ruzek.
