Rita Bernsen of Corsicana, TX passed away at the age of 79 on November 20,2023. Rita was born on 6/2/1944 in Corsicana, TX, and was 1 of 11 siblings born to parents Talmadge DeWitt Farmer and Laura May Patrick Farmer. Rita married Wayne Bernsen of Corpus Christi Tx on May 20, 1967, and had I child, Darryl Bernsen. Rita worked at the Navarro County Tax office for 28 years and eventually held the position of Chief Deputy of the Auto Registration department. At one point she finished the vacated position of Tax Assessor for almost 1 year.
Rita is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wayne Bernsen, son Darryl Bernsen, daughter in law Shannon Bernsen, Grandkids, Derek, Kelsi, and Bret, brother Buddy Farmer, sisters Lita Farr, and Barbara Blum and dozens of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rita was preceded by her parents Talmadge and Laura May Farmer, sisters, Francis Buck, Bessie Armstrong, Emma Christian, Sandra Youngblood and brothers Ed Farmer, Dwayne Farmer, and Thomas Farmer.
A memorial Service will be held at Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County on December 2, 2023 at 11:00 am.
