Fred C. Warneking, son of Henry Warneking and Sophia Havemann Warneking, was born at rural Syracuse, Nebraska, August 22, 1894 and passed away, October 25, 1977 at Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 3 days.

He was received by the Lord in Holy Baptism, September 23, 1894, being baptized by the Rev. O. Klorekner. He was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church on March 8, 1907 by Rev. A. Meyrles.

The first five years of his life was lived at Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 8 he moved with his parents to Nuckolls County. He spent the last 75 years of his life in Nuckolls County, living on a farm, until two years ago he moved to Superior. He received his education in the Smyrna Public School.

On April 22, 1920 he was united in marriage to Magdalene Hansche. To this union 6 children were born. One daughter and five sons.

Fred was always in church, being an active member of the church and he also was an active member of the Brotherhood of the church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, Henry, Bill, Walter and Herman. One sister, Frieda Grummert, one great-grandson, Robert Van Artsdalen and one great granddaughter, Brenda Blazer.

He leaves to mourn his passing, His beloved wife, Magdalene at home, one daughter, Mrs. Clara Allen of Prosser, Washington, five sons, George of Lynnwood, Washington, Harold of Superior, Fred H. of Portland, Oregon, Edwald of Pedeleton (sic), Oregon and Lindell of Klamath Falls, Oregon. A brother Emil of Deshler, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 29 from the Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Ray Ensign officiating. Serving as casketbearers were: William Schriever, Harvey Schriever, Alvin Bargen, Marlan Watson, Orlin Bargen and Robert Schiermeyer. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
