Robert G. Koenig was born on April 29, 1936 in East Moline, the son of Carl H. and Manilla Bay (Nyenhuis) Koenig. On January 21, 1959 Robert was united in marriage to Sue Cardwell in Muscatine. Robert had retired from working in 1986. He was an avid card player and enjoyed fishing and working on his '49 Ford. He lived life to the fullest and loved his family deeply. Robert will be sadly missed by those whose lives he touched.
Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sue, of Muscatine; four sons, Bob Koenig and his wife Deb of Muscatine, Scott Koenig and his wife Lisa of Columbus Junction, Rod Koenig and his wife Shellie of Muscatine, and Stacy Koenig and his wife Tracy of Grandview; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Wesley Koenig of Phoenix, AZ; and three sisters, Catherine Culbertson of Davenport, FL, Ruth Riley of Texas and Helen Culbertson, of Joplin, Missouri.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and 5 brothers, Howard, Don, Dick, Chuck and Robert
