HAYS - Richard F. Keberlein, 86 died April 26, 1997, at St. John's of Victoria Nursing Home. He was born May 19, 1910, at Antonino, the son of John and Anna Marie Dechant Keberlein.

A Hays resident, he owned and operated the L-K Dairy from 1939 until 1982, one of the last independent dairies to process milk and other dairy products in the state. He retired in 1982. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 1325, both at Hays, and sponsored a men's fast-pitch team for many years.

On Nov. 22, 1937, he married Justina "Jessie" Meis at Catherine. She died Nov. 16, 1989.

Survivors include: a brother, Alfred, Hays; and three nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Isidore, and a sister, Virginia Bollig.

Parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Colum bus rosary at 7:30 p.m., both Monday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Hays. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Curtis Carlson presiding. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Hays.
