His wife, Mary Jane, died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, John of Hays; a daughter, Diana Schuvie of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Rev. David Metz officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays, with military honors by the Hays American Legion.
