Mary Augusta Hutfles, 93, of Seneca, formerly of Kelly, died early Monday evening, March 6, 2006, at Life Care Center in Seneca.

She was born November 16, 1912, on a farm east of Kelly, the daughter of Henry and Josephine Sextro Boeckman. She attended St. Bede's School.

On October 4, 1933, she married Ernest J. Hutfles at St. Bede's Church in Kelly. They lived and farmed northeast of Centralia before moving to a farm west of Kelly. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Her husband preceded her in death on October 7, 1983. She later moved into Seneca.

She was a member St. Bede's Church and the Altar Society at the church. She and Ernest travelled together and found a trip to Germany especially interesting. Augusta enjoyed gardening, playing cards, quilting, and sewing.

Survivors are three sons, John of Centralia, Jerry of Knob Noster, MO, and Joe of Byron, GA; two daughters, Mary Elaine Wheeler of Climax Springs, MO and Jane Newman of Tomball, TX; a brother, Lawrence Boeckman of Seneca; three sisters, Frances Wichman and Arlene Schmitz, both of Seneca, and Mary Ann Schmitz of Baileyville; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Raymond, and Alvin Boeckman; and three sisters, Clara Segenhagen, Rosalia "Sally" Deters, and Dorothy M. Henry; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Hutfles; and a granddaughter, Lori Ann Hutfles.

The mass of Christian will be 10 AM Friday at St. Bede's Church. The burial will be in the church cemetery.
