Harold Zeiler Taken by Death

Harold Zeiler, 51, principal at Johnstown high school for many years, died Saturday morning in Denver.

The deceased was born in Loveland, Dec. 15, 1905, the son of the late Conrad and Marie Barbara Zeiler. He attended Loveland high, the University of Colorado and received his master of arts degree from CSCE, Greeley. He had been working on his doctor’s degree from the University of Southern California. Zeiler taught school in Redfield, S.D., the Mountain ? School, and two years of ? Johnstown, before he became the principal there in 1936, which position he has held since.

He was married in 1934 to Dorothy Carlson, and was a member of the Johnstown EUB church. In addition, he was past master of the Johnstown Masons, past patron of the Johnstown Eastern Star, Loveland BPOE, Johnstown Community club, Colorado Educational league, and Colorado Educational association.

He is survived by his wife, four children, Tom, Lois Fay, Gary and Mark; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Uhrich, Mrs. J.L. Lebsack, Mrs. Carl Amen; four brothers, J.C., Henry, Carl and Sam Zeiler.

Services will be held from the Loveland Congregational church in which he was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Keith Sauer of Johnstown and the Rev. A. Brenning will officiate at the final rites.

Interment will be in Loveland burial park, with Kibbey’s in charge of arrangements.
