Mr. Fillinger was employed as a bottler for 27 years at Stroh's Brewery. He was a member of St. Lucy Church and Low Vision. He is survived by his children, Virginia Greenwald, Michael (Shirley), Paul (Sharen), Patricia, Carol Lynn Paton, Martha LaPinta and Carall Jr. (Anne); 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and brother, Truman. He was predeceased by his wife, Olga, in 1993; son, Melvyn (Julie); and brothers, Frank and Vince.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lucy Church, St. Clair Shores.
Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Additional visitation is 9:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
