John Boggs was a Captain of Deleware troops during the Revolutionary War and a veteran of that terrible winter with Washington at Valley Forge. He also served with Evan Shelby in 1776 during the Cherokee Expedition. He assisted in the protection of Fort Boonesborough after one of his brothers, Robert, went with Daniel Boone originaly to build it. His is one of only 3 original Revolutionary War uniforms left in existence and can be seen at the Richmond KY museum.
