ELIZABETH B. WERNER ( Elizabeth Baumbach )
Elizabeth Baumbach Werner, 87, of 702 W. Walnut St. died yesterday afternoon at a local hospital after an extended illness.
A native of Wittenberg, S. D. she was married in 1903 to Abraham Werner, who preceded her in death eight years ago.
She and her husband moved to Lodi to become vintners on Kennison Lane. Later they moved to Arcata where they grew lilies for market.
She was a member of the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist church of Lodi.
Following her husband's death she returned to Lodi to reside with her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs and Mrs Elmer Reimche.
She is survived by a son, Henry Werner, two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Adaline) Reimche and Mrs. Robert. N. (Rachel) Lind all of Lodi; a brother, Ike Baumbach of Lodi; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Scheideman of Lodi and Mrs. Lydia Miller of San Jose; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the Lodi Funeral Home on Friday at 2pm with Elder Hayward Shafer officiating.
Interment will be in the Cherokee Memorial Park.
