Emil Osterloh

Emil Osterloh, 101, passed away Thursday, February 11, 1999, at Merrick Manor in Fremont. He was a lifetime Dodge County resident.

Emil was born, June 26, 1897, on the family farm north of Hooper. He attended country school, Fremont Normal School and the University of Nebraska Ag College.

On January 10, 1923, he marrried Laura Popken at her parents farm in rural Hooper. The couple farmed from 1923 until their reetirement in 1963 when they moved to Hooper. Laura died in 1994 and Emil moved to Nye Court in 1995.

Emil was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Hooper where he was Sunday School Suuperintendent for many years.

Survivors include a son, Byron and wife Jean Osterloh of Paradise Valley, Az.; two daughters, Joyce Ball of Fremont and Mrs. (Bill) Elaine Schnebel of Alva, Ok.; and eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Emil in death were his wife;two sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services were held on February 15 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Hooper. Rev. Christopher Lenning officiated. Burial was in the church cemeetery.

Memorials are suggested to the church or Fremont Area Medical
Center Hospice Program.
