Evelyn Ann Koesler, 86, of Muenster died Aug. 28 at Muenster Memorial Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 31 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Ken Robinson celebrating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster. Pallbearers were David Yosten, John Yosten, Steve Fisch, Paul Caplinger, Fred Koesler and Mel Yosten. History Evelyn Ann Koesler was born in Muenster Jan. 1, 1926 to Henry John and Louise Binz Wiesman. The family lived on a farm northwest of Muenster. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated in 1943. She married Raymond A. Stewart, Jr., Aug. 30, 1947 in Subiaco, Ark. Evelyn Ann Koesler entered nurses training at the Nurse Cadet Corp in Fort Worth, graduating in 1947. She worked at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. After returning home, the Texas City tragedy happened and she returned to the hospital where she cared for the many injured in the explosion. Her husband was recalled into military service in 1951 and was sent to Korea. While flying over enemy territory, he was hit by ground fi re and the plane crashed and caught fire. His life status was listed as unknown, but he was declared dead in 1954. Evelyn Ann Koesler returned to Muenster and made it her home after his death. She married Tony Koesler Sept. 9, 1957 and they lived in Muenster until 1963 when they moved to the farm.

Evelyn Ann Koesler is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Darlene Stewart of Muenster and Chuck and Doris Koesler of Muenster; grandchildren and spouses, Rhonda
and Randy Rhoades, Ray and Shirley Stewart, Kim and Craig Monday, Alyssa Stewart, Jessica and Tyler Schneider, Tony and Becky Koesler, Kristina Koesler, Kody and Laura Truebenbach and Sabrina Truebenbach; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lt. Raymond Stewart and Tony Koesler; sisters, Girlie, Minnie and Hank; parents, Henry and Louise Weisman; and daughter, Ann Stewart.
