DELK, GEORGE LUDWIG*
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon for George L. Delk, 72, who died at his 915 S. School St. home Sunday afternoon after a brief illness.
Born in Wittenberg, S. Dakota, the retired farmer had lived in the Lodi District since 1936 when he came here from Harvey, N.D. He was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church.
He was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Delk, Lodi, and the father of Mrs. Irene Gibson, San Francisco; Erwin Delk, Woodland; Mrs. Doris Dolt, San Francisco; Miss Viola Delk, San Francisco; and Mrs. Lucille Schlacht, Tracy.
He was the stepfather of Mrs. Mabel Webber, Warm Springs, Ore.; H. E. Seibel, Oakland; and Clifford Seibel, Hayward. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Sarah Buchmiller, Lodi; David Delk, Galt; Mrs. Martha Janzen, Lodi; Henry H Delk, Harvey, N. D.; Charles Delk, Wichita, Kansas; Jacob C Delk, Balco, Okla.; Mrs. Elizabeth Huber, Harvey, N.D.; and John J Delk, Peabody, Kansas.
Services will begin at 2pm Thursday in the Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. H. H. Dick officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park under the direction of Lodi Funeral Home.
