David Delk, 89, formerly of Lodi, died Wednesday in a Sacramento hospital following a sudden illness.
Mr. Delk was a native of South Dakota. He was raised and educated in North Dakota. He married Mary Reiswig in Lodi in 1922 and the couple made their first home here. They lived in various places in the United States and settled in Galt in 1944. They moved to Sacramento in 1962.
Mr. Delk was a self-employed mechanic. He was also a member of the Greenhaven Neighborhood Church of Sacramento. He enjoyed reading and working with his hands.
Mr. Delk was receded in death by four sons and two daughters. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Joyce Sams of Sacramento; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 1:30pm Monday in Vinewood Community Church in Lodi. The Revs. John Block, Steve Tewes and Robert Seibel of Greenhaven Neighborhood Church of Sacramento will officiate. Committal will be in Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at Lodi Funeral Home from 3pm today until noon Monday.
