Frederick L. Tschannen, the son of John and Dora (Orht) Tschannen, was born on September 26, 1906 in Kane County, Montgomery, Illinois.
When Fritz was a young teenager, he along with other friends went hunting. Fritz had tripped and his rifle went off and he was wounded in the left leg which was badly injured and therefore his leg had to be amputated. But this injury never stopped Fritz from leading a full life.
Soon after World War II was over, Fritz joined Pat Paterson in partnership and ran the Sinclair gas station and ice house on Route 31 and Webster Street across from the lumberyard, the site of many card games and get-togethers from 1945 until its 1957 closing.
Fritz was united in marriage to Kathryn M. Syler and to this union was born one child, a son; Frederick L. Tschannen.
Fritz was a loving grandfather to his two grandsons; Frederick Mark and Jack Lewis Tschannen.
He was a brother to; Ernest, Walter, Arthur, John and Herbert Leroy Tschannen, his sisters; Rose Tschannen McCune, Dorothy Tschannen Crawford and a half sister; Pauline Katrina Schroedell Nyvold.
Burial at Riverside Cemetery next to his parents, John and Dora, his brother, Herbert Tschannen.
