Darrell Roper, 78, of Paris, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2009. He was born on August 22, 1930 in Paris.
He was retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department. Darrell loved the outdoors.
A graveside memorial to honor Darrell will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Wares Chapel, aka Tokalon, Cemetery in Dublin under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ruby Roper of Dublin, AR and a brother, Ottis Roper of Ft. Smith, AR.
He is survived by his life companion of 17 years, Carol Patterson; a son, Roy Roper and daughter-in-law, Carla from Greenwood, AR; a daughter, Janice Rector and son-in-law, James Rector of Paris. Lovingly Darrell's family extends to two sons, Micheal Patterson of Hattiesburg, MS and Tommy Patterson of Paris; a daughter, Heather Robbins of Fort Smith, AR; two sisters, Betty Stovall of Dublin, AR and Barbara Koenigseder of Fort Smith, AR; one brother, Ronnie Roper of Charleston, AR; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
