Mrs. Philip Menne, aged 59, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Monday, after an illness of several months. The deceased, nee Caroline Becker, was the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Becker, and was born in Ludwigshoho, Rheinhessen Darmstadt, Germany, August 31, 1876. In 1883 she came to this country with her parents, to the town of Rhine. She was married to Philip Menne of the town of Rhine on January 14, 1896, and the couple located on a farm in the town of Rhine until 1905, when they moved to this city. Mr. Menne passed away August 7, 1930.
Of the four children born to them three survive, a son Peter having passed away on October 22, 1933. Survivors are three daughters, namely: Mrs. Arthur (Elsie) Klauck, and the Misses Anna and Hilda of this city; six grandchildren; her aged mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Becker of Glenbeulah;three sisters—Mrs. William Gottsacker of Sheboygan, Mrs. Henry Ziegler of Glenbeulah, and Mrs. Mathilda Trowbridge of Hayward, and two brothers, Adam Becker of the town of Russell, and Henry Becker of Elkhart Lake.
Three brothers and one sister preceded Mrs. Menne in death.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from the family residence at 918 North 7th street, and at 9:30 a.m. services will be held at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with the Rev. J. J. Esdepsky officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery near here.
