Earl E Karnatz, who was born in Hastings, Jan 27, 1918, and lived in the Esbon and Bostwick areas, died Saturday, Feb 4 in Yerington, Nev. He was the son of Arthur and Amelia Karnatz.
He graduated from the eighth grade from a country school near Esbon and was a graduate of Superior High School. After graduation he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska.
Dec 9, 1941, he was married to Eva Marie Desrosiers at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. To this union 10 children were born. After his discharge from the service he was employed by the Bell Telephone Company and lived in Nevada and California. After retiring he and his wife, Eva, moved to Yerington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Johnny; and two daughters, Lenore and Loretta.
Survivors include his wife, Eva; three daughters, Beverly Karnatz of San Francisco, Calif., Mrs Mike Dodds (Raymonde) of Fenton, Mo., and Mrs Donald Chapman (Marie) of Yerington, Nev.; four sons, Earl and Philip Karnatz of Sacramento, Calif., Paul Karnatz of Redland, Calif., and Matthew Karnatz of Avon Lakes, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian and Kevin Dodds of Fenton, Mo., Loretta Pantoja of Yerington, Nev., and Catherine Nicole Karnatz of Redlands, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs Dick Towne (Elaine) of Rapid City, SD and Eleanor Duncan and Mrs Oren Reeve (Stella) of Superior; nieces and nephews, Richard Towne and Linda Lindsey of Rapid City, Marsha Colling of Texas, Jacky Wyatt and Donald Duncan of Superior, Patricia Case of Dannebrog, Neb., and Robert Reeve and Richard Reeve of Hastings; and many other relatives.
Memorial services were in Yerington, Nev. Interment was in a San Francisco, Calif., Cemetery
