A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Portland for Irene Dorothy Stapleton, who died April 25 at age 79.
Irene Dorothy Flusche was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Muskogee, Okla. She moved in 1950 to Portland and was a salesclerk for J.J. Newberry in Lloyd Center.
In 1942, she married James Hunter; he died in 1961.
She married Robert Stapleton in 1968.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Eileen Schmidt, Margaret Green, Roberta Miller and Susan Boitz; sons, Anthony Hunter, Christopher Hunter and Robert Hunter; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
