Franklin, July 29. Mrs. David Hovis of Clintonville, died at her home at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 27. 76 years. Sixth child of late James and Maria Canan, leaves but two survivors of the family, Mrs. G. W. Parker of Franklin and Robert J. Canan of Clintonville. Deceased married David Hovis in 1838. Eight children all living.... Funeral 10 this morning at late residence. Large crowd....
