Noma Huber Hocker, 99, of Malone, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Carl Freeto officiating. Interment will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery near Hillsboro. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the funeral home.

Noma was born in Eddy, Texas, to the late Harmon and Emma (Schronk) Huber. She married Adolph Hocker. Both of them were members of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Hocker was a devoted mother to her sons, Paul and Harmon, throughout her life time. She was very fond of Harmon's beautiful paint horses, especially when the mother horse would have a new baby foal. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially when Spring arrived and she could plant her garden. She was also proud of her flower garden. She always said her best friend was her dog Frosty, a beautiful white American Spitz. The two of them were wonderful companions.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Adolph, on March 17, 1992; six brothers; and five sisters, whom she loved very much.

Survivors include sons, Paul Hocker, of Waco and Harmon Hocker, of Malone; sister, Wanda Hocker, of Waco; brother, Raymond Huber, of Eddy; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
