OBITUARY:
Clara Emilie Stutheit, daughter of Herman and Emma Marquardson Stutheit, was born Sept. 8, 1900, south of Johnson, Ne.
one of 12 children, whe was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul (Stutheit)Lutheran Church, south of Johnson, Ne.
Clara grew up on the family farm and attended Beckman rural school near her home.
Dec. 18, 1924, she was married to Edwin W. Oestmann at St. paul (Stutheit)Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mr. Oestmann lived on farms south of Johnson until the early 1970's, when they retired in Johnson, Ne. July 13, 1973 Edwin died.
Since her marriage, Clara was a member of Martin-Luther Lutheran Church, south of Johnson, and active in the ladies group.
As her health began to fail, she was admitted to the Maple Grove Home at Tecumseh in September of 1989. May 6, 1992 she entered Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh. It was there on May 9, 1992 that she died. having reached the age of 91 years, eight months, and one day.
She was preceded in death by hr parents; her husband; two grand children;five brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are the 9 children. (All listed in husband's bio)
She had 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Lydia Houlton and Ellen Oestmann of Auburn, and Emma Gobber of Maple Grove Home near Tecumseh, Ne. other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held May 11 at Martin Luther Church, conducted by Rev. James Killough.
Grandsons werving as pallbearers were Clayton Saathoff, Paul Oestmann, Dennis Oestmann, mark Oestmann, Lavon Othmer and Jeff Oestmann.
Marlys Hiltgen, Jane Oestmann and Troy Crow were grandchildren assiing with flowers.
Mrs. Eldon Bohling was organist.
Burila was in the church cemetery.
