OBITUARY:
Martha Chritine Stutheit, daughter of Herman and Emma Marquardsen Stutheit, was born near Johnson May 13, 1898, one of 12 children.
She was baptized May 30, 1898 by Rev. Dahl and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church south of Johnson, NE. by Pastor a Hofius. She received her education in a rural school near their farm home.
May 20, 1937 she was married to Albert Moerer in the First Lutyheran church in Omaha, NE. They made their home on a farm south of Johnson. Later she moved with her husband into Johnson.
Martha entered the Nemaha County Hospital Aug. 7 and died unexpectedly Aug. 9, 1983, having reached the age of 85 years, two months and 27 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sister.
She is survived by her husband Albert Moerer of Johnson; by two sisters, Ida Stutheit of the Good Samaritan Center in Auburn, and Mrs. Clara Oestmann of Johnson; by other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Aug. 12 at St. Paul Hickory Grove Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Stephen L. Nierman.
Pallbearers were Emory Stutheit, Willis Stutheit, Walter Michel, Wayne Moerer, Vannes Moerer and Eldon Neddenriep.
Music was provided by Mrs.James Gerking and Mrs. Alvin Remmers, along with a quartet comprised of Alvin Remmers, Allyn Remmers, Willard Kuhlmann and Harlan Bohling. Assisting with flowers were Esther Michel and Mrs. Walter Heidzig.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
