Complications resulting from injuries sustained Dec. 16 when struck by an automobile near West Third and Warren streets were attributed Friday to the death of Carl Schreiber, 76, of 1413 West Thirteenth street.

Whether or not the death will be included in the city's 1948 auto fatalities will not be known until an investigation by Coroner Frank Keppy.

According to police, Schreiber was running to catch a bus when he was hit by a car driven by Eugene Rogers, 28, of 3123 Sunnyside avenue. The accident happened on Warren street about 35 feet north of the intersection with Third street.

Suffering from leg and head injuries, Schreiber was removed to Mercy hospital in a city ambulance. He later was returned to his home, where death occurred.

He was born Nov. 12, 1872 in Walcott, son of the late Henry and Bertha Schreiber, and received his education in the schools of Walcott and Davenport. In 1897 he was married to Minnie Yost, who died in 1935. He later married Mae G. Wiley, Feb. 19, 1941 in Dubuque. For 27 years he was employed as an inspector at the Voss Manufacturing Co., and was a charter member of the Archeology society, Illowa Rock Hound club and the Popular Astronomy club. He attended First Presbyterian church.

Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Giebel, Rochester, N. Y., and Mrs. Henry Sieffert, Warsaw, Ind.; a step-son, E. C. Wiley, Cairo, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Dorothea Paarmann, Miss Bertha Schreiber, and Mrs. Clarence Rice, all of Walcott, Mrs. H. Betz, and Mrs. Irma McGinley, Davenport; a brother, Gus Schreiber, Walcott; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Hill & Fredericks chapel followed by entombment in Fairmount mausoleum.
