Arthur Robert Meissner of Wilmington, California, former Pierson resident, died December 24, 1990 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 1991 at the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley with the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery, Rock Branch. Mr. Meissner was born May 22, 1935, at Pierson, Iowa, the son of W.P. and Therese (Riemenschneider) Meissner. He graduated from Pierson High School and attended Morningside College. He served in the Marine Corp for two years. Arthur was a resident of California for 30 years. He retired in 1984 from Reynolds Metal Company where he was employed as a Quality Control Inspector. Mr. Meissner was a Lutheran. Survivors include three sons, Russell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michael of Wapello, Iowa, and Robert of Ainsworth, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Pamela Cuno of Amana, Iowa, his mother, Therese E. Meissner of Chicago City, Minnesota; step-mother, Vera Meissner of Pierson, Iowa; a brother, George of Fridley, Minnesota; and a half sister, Mary Creek of Sarasota, Florida and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and daughter, Karen Sue.
