Born in Glen Rock, February 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mamie (Krebs) Walker.
Mrs. Meckley was employed by the State of Pennsylvania as a Secretary for 26 years, retiring in 1993. Betty was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Jacobus.
A very important aspect of her life was her card clubs and weekly bingo nights.
She was the wife of Clark E. Meckley, Sr., who died on June 30, 2006, and is survived by three sons, Clark Meckley, Jr. and wife, Mary Ann of Dover, Marty Meckley and Tim Meckley, both of York; five grandchildren, Krystal Poslucci and husband, Paul, Alicia Almoney and husband, Rick, Cory Meckley, Carla Pyfer, Gary Pyfer; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Leona Quinn and husband, Vincent of Glen Rock, and Mildred Lentz and husband, Russell of Abbottstown.
Betty's final resting place was beside her husband in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus.
